Anyone living in the Augusta area is used to hurricane threats and warnings. Most, however, are not used to the devastation and destruction left in Helene’s wake. What we thought was just going to be another horrible storm, turned into the worst we’ve seen in over a hundred years. Branches, power lines, and complete trees are creating a hurdle for Augusta’s residents everywhere, but through it all, what shines brightly is the kindness of our community as we work together to overcome so many burdens.
A Sincere Thank You to First Responders, Tree Professionals, State and City Workers
Our staff, owners, and operators would like to give a sincere and glowing thank you to first responders in the area who have been working day and night to restore our power, help those injured, and pitch in to supply many with necessary resources to make it through the most difficult days post-storm. Power companies from multiple states and Canada came to the rescue providing 80% of power by October 1st. Without your dedication and relenting resolve, Augusta residents would be in far worse shape than we currently find ourselves.
Junk in the Box is Rolling up Our Sleeves
Augusta, and the CSRA as a whole, could not have been prepared for the rein of Hurricane Helene, nor could we have planned the huge cleanup that would ensue in Helene’s wake. From whole houses being demolished, to cars and trees blocking people’s access to food and water, we all have a lot to do.
